Those of you who had plans to leave from NY or Toronto this PM have my sympathies.

The major NE power grid has shut down.

It's also affecting Michigan, Connecticut, Ohio, and NJ. Must be why we haven't heard from Bailey in a little while.

According to early reports, the blackout happened a little after 4pm EDT

Some of us have connections through our cellular providers, which are hard to get through at times like this, but still up and running. Laptop with good battery and cellular wireless and one could be reporting from anywhere the service is available. :-)

Stayed on the tarmac in Ohio for two hours....& spent the night in Ohio.
Called at 7am...from the airport....hopefully the 7:45 took off....and he's struggling from Laguardia across the George Washington Bridge to Jersey.
He's on deadline...writer...so I know it's driving him crazy!!
