Power adapters for Ipod video

Ok Since I am going to england I have an ipod video and I want to be to charge it on the plane as well as my room. What I want to know is what I need to do this. I have read the posts, but I'm confused if need a convertor or an adapter. Anyway I already have apples Usb power adapter http://tinyurl.com/fzg8a
I just need to know what would work best that is cheapter than the $39 at the apple store. Thanks!

you need a plug adapter, one that makes your usa plug into a england one, go to radio shack

so I just need an adapter not a converter? hmmm. That is good to know. Well I'm still working on traveling on the plane with the power giving out. I went to Amazon and saw this http://tinyurl.com/fql5w. This seems like a good idea, but is there a cheaper way to have extra power for the ipod.

For the forseeable future you cannot bring any electronics on the plane. Check with your airline

Well flying into England seesms to be fine. Flying out I know that. I am going to be on united and it seems flying into the uk can have electronics, but flying out you can't have them. The Tsa website has this: http://tinyurl.com/fstfc
The only airline that has banned items both going and coming back are BA.

Hi Vamps,

Have you checked with the airline to see if they have power outlets on board?

I know there is an alkaline-powered charger for ipods (primarily sold for people who will be camping,or staying for extended periods without electricity.)I looked into buying it before my trip to India last year, but it seemed quite cumbersome. If I can find it,I'll post a link.

No I haven't checked. I just heard about the cigarette lighter powerports that are on planes and I don't know what to buy for those seats. I will ask about that now. Now I know that my ipod will work on in england with a plug adapter. Anyway thanks for all the answers.

massagediva thanks for the offer to post that link. I hope you find it. :)

Here it is-I'm going to Australia in October,so I may buy one, too!(I hope they're allowing electronic devices on the plane by then,I don't think I can bear a Baltimor-Sydney itinerary without my ipod!)
