Pottery near Venice

Hi -

I'm going to be in/near Venice in late October. My colleague has decided that our mission for the Saturday is pottery. Does anyone have suggestions (general or specific) regarding where we should go? We will have a car and would be willing to drive in any direction, but it would be only a day trip as we have to be back in Mestre at some point that night.

Thanks so much

Bassano del Grappa has a couple of cute shops and Nove (which is nearby) has a ton of pottery places. We stayed in Treviso and found it a very easy to drive to both of these places in the same day.

Nove as the other message noted has many to choose from, just remember most are closed for about 3 hours in the afternoon. It is located above Vicenza off of the A-4, probably about 1 1/2 hours from Venice. Go early--Sat most are open only in the mornings, and not at all on Sundays. While in the area, also visit Bassano del Grappa, and Marostica a walled village that is great. Patti
