Posting a trip report questions

I'm in the process of typing up my trip report. Is it better to provide a link to my website or just cut and paste it here? I'm guessing the latter so keywords are searchable. So then my question is I know this forum has some quirks about cutting and pasting with punctuation and such. Anyone have that all figured out? Also, isn't there something about the length a single post can be? My report is very long so I'm not sure at what point to cut things off and put into another post. Thanks for your help!

Hi ado,

Look forward to your report.

I think the limit is about 750 words/post.

I think that if you save your report as "text only" you won't have to worry about apostrphes being turned into question marks.

Please double space between paragraphs.

I would post your report on this forum. The best thing would be to divide it into logical sections and post the sections as replies to your first section. That way the entire report is available on a single post. I had problems with apostrophes changed into question marks when moving the report from my word processor to this site and had to do the final editing on the posting itself.

Ira, Thank you. I've never posted a trip report because I hated the question marks that magically appeared in place of apostrophes. I can't imagine sitting here and spending the time to retype everything that's already in my computer.

We're off to northern CA and then to England but I'll have a trip report when we get back. Glad someone else asked. I'm shy! ((@))

Thanks! I'll get to posting then. I've got the Rome portion done and working on the second phase now.

Related to this, as a relative newcomer, I've been hesitant to post my report on my recent trip to Paris and Amsterdam . . . is there interest on reports from everyone?

lizziepayne, don't be shy. Post away.

I read trip reports...everyboby's point of view is different. Interesting.
I was a teenager when I was last in Rome. Its been a long time since chariots ran in the streets. That is what I remember, and so, it probably is different now. I read others' reports to learn "things" so I'll remember when I can go back.

I got rid of those pesky apostrophe's and question marks by typing my report in an email program. Then, I cut and pasted it here. I'm looking forward to some good reading!

Post away Lizzie & adogaer!! I look forward to reading them, no matter how long :D
