4-5 Days in Zurich
First time in switzerland, but I'm looking to adventure a bit (safely, AS i will be solo). Would LOVE to hike. Are there pre-set trails where people go during the day? Is my best bet Zurich or Geneva (or somewhere in between?). I want it to be manageable to travel around since I only have about 4-5 days and will be by myself!

Have fun hiking the Bahnhofstrasse.
You can get everything you need for your rucksack at Chanel, Prada, and Teuscher.
And you won't need a rope to climb up to Lindenhof Park.
Tent for the night? Try the Baur au Lac!
ROFL!
Thanks for the laugh.
Tschuss,

Hi canadia2013,
Zürich is a big city, so, no, it's really not the best bet for some hiking. Particularly not if you want to see/hike the mountains.
I would suggest you try Luzern, which is ringed by some mountains and which lies at the foot of a system of lakes. You can easily get out of the city to get to Rigi, Pilatus, or Titlis for hiking, or you can take a ferry ride on the lakes and walk along the lakeside.

Luzern is only an hour by direct train from the Zürich airport.
Have fun as you plan!

Really?
You don't think it is funny that someone wants to go hiking in a big BANKING city?
The only trails in Zurich are the trails of crumbs going from Sprungli to Cartier.
Get serious and I can help.

Hello
there are a lot of different trails near Zurich and its lake. For example from Rapperswil, very nice old town on the lake shore you can cross the lake on a wooden bridge.
But if you look for real hiking on the mountains you have to go at least to Lucerne. just 45 min by train from Zurich.
From Lucern you have access to Mt Pilatus, Rigi and Titlis.
