possible strike by air france pilots?

I read on the expedia site about thhis and I wondered if anyone has been interrupted from it or if anyone has any better information than expedia. I asked my travel agent and they didn't know anything about it.

I am in France now and can tell you that the pilot strike started today and will last through Sunday. Most of Air France's international flights have been cancelled (not all) and about half of their domestic flights have been cancelled. Things are supposed to return to normal on Monday.

Well, it was on the news this morning on the radio (I heard it about 9 am EST in the US, and it was announced ahead of time anyway, AF personnel usually announce it ahead). You should get a new travel agent.

I read about it last night on Delta's website (www.delta.com). They tell you what to do if you are flying AF on a Delta ticket.

Anne

What's the latest on this?

From the Air France website, don't know if it relates to the strike but I assume it does:

As from Tuesday 10 September in the morning, long-haul flights departing from Orly and Charles de Gaulle will operate as normal.

As for short and medium-haul operations, the normal flight schedule for departures from France and Europe will be resumed during the morning.

Some long-haul flights returning to Paris have been canceled due to a lack of available aircraft at departing stations.

More than 90% of flights will therefore be maintained on Tuesday.

As from Wednesday 11 September in morning, operations on the entire Air France network will be back to normal.
