Possible change in plans-May to April in Spain-a mistake??
Friends who we are meeting in Spain may not be able to go in May so we are looking at changing to April or even possibly Mid to end of June. Would appreciate any thoughts on this. We will spend 3 days in Barcelona, one week on Costa Dorada near Tarragona (timeshare) and one week in Andalucia. We can go either April or even mid June..total trip will be about 17-18 days. We are on the water at Costa Dorada so are a little concerned it may be too cool in April...but is Andalucia really hot in June? any thoughts?

Hi canuck. I've never been to Spain but am hoping to go next year. My research shows April to be rainy I think. If I had the choice my first would be May, then June. You'll probably be into the 80's along the southern coast and around
70's in Barcelona..not sure about Costa Daurada. Anyone else?

I was in Spain most of last year. In Andalucia, in late March and April, the weather was beautiful. You will really like Tarragona too. During Christmas of 2000, you oculd wear short sleeves in Barcelona. So you should have nothing to worry about. Now, I have not done any swimming in Spain, so I cannot vouch for that. Have a nice trip.

Thanks for replies..but will I be more prone to rainy season in April as opposed to June? And navyflyer..do you know if this is the "norm" for Spain (shirtsleeves at Christmas?!)..thanks.

We were in Andalucia in March and had a few days of rain but mostly beautiful weather. I would think April would be even better. And if Easter week(Semana Santa) falls during the time you are there, you will be SO fortunate to be able to see the wonderful processions that take place in all the villages and cities, with the major ones in Sevilla.

Vera

Yikes I forgot about Semana Santa..dumb question but does the festivities take place before or after Easter? I really don't want to be there then because of the heavier crowds.
