Positano - Villa Rosa Room 18
 

We have decided to stay at Villa Rosa for our trip to Amalfi Coast.

Looking for room # suggestions - #18 has been mentioned.

Would like large terrace, large room, and would prefer combo tub/shower rather than just shower stall.

Villa Rosa has recommended rooms on the 3rd floor (32, 36, 37). Has anyone stayed any of these?

They are a hotel that goes the extra mile for it's guests - if they recommend those rooms I'd say grab one of them quickly!

Anyone have suggestions?

We stayed in room 33 (fantastic) for two nights and then down to room 28 for our last night.

I'd take anything in the 30s. . . . the rooms are huge and the terrace is fantastic (same view as Le Sirenuse, including Le Sirenuse). No tubs, though. Sorry! And each shower we had was small. . .

Personally, I'd take room 32 because it was to the right of ours and it jutted out a bit, giving the appearance of a larger terrace and possibly a larger room.

We loved it there. . . despite the small shower. The terrace is what makes the place -- what a view! And it is in a good location for getting down to the main piazza and the beach. . .

I'm assuming room 32 and 33 are on the 3rd floor?

I know that they have moved reception now to the 4th floor. Was there much noise above?

In all honesty, I can't remember what floor reception was on, but I don't think it was the fourth floor. You walk up one flight of steps, then another, turn the corner and there is reception. To get to our room 28, we had to go up yet another flight of stairs from reception and to get to our room 33, another flight of stairs. So, it would be safe to assume that reception would be on the same floor as room 18. And I can't honestly tell you if that room has a terrace. But from where I was in room 33, it seemed as if all rooms on my floor had the best terraces (rooms above had small balconies). No noise from upstairs, as I recall. We were probably the noisest couple in the hotel given our late night wine drinking escapades!

We just came back from Italy. Stayed in Villa Rosa- room 38. The view was spectacular!!! We slept with the doors open, listening to nothing but the ocean waves. This is the room at the top, along with Room 37.

If you need a large room/terrace, take room 37. The terrace was huge, compared to ours and it sticks out further than ours- which is only a double room. Room 37 is a suite I believe.

When we were having our breakfast by the terrace, the people from Room 37 came out and there were 5 of them- mom and dad, and 3 teenagers!

our room was 140Euros - worth every euro! Have a great trip planning.

I just stayed at Villa Rossa and I'm pretty sure it was room #36 the second to last door from the end of hall).

When making reservations, I asked for #18 and was told they were remodeling, so I think they renumbered their rooms.

I would consider the reception area to be the first floor. You only reach it after climbing many steps from the street. From the reception area, we climbed two floors, (73 steps in all from the base of the hotel). Our room was a triple. The terrace was larger than the room and was wonderful. The room was okay and the bathroom was small and had one of those corner showers with a 2" lip--we managed to have a serious flood when the small package of soap got caught in the drain. But, it was ALL about the terrace.

Before reserving I read there were lots of steps, but what I didn't know was that the steps start practically at the dock when you get off the ferry. From the church, we counted 103 steps to the hotel. In between the steps, there are inclined alleyways.

From the docks, be sure to let your porter take your luggage to the hotel.

This is silly, but I'm obsessive. I woke up thinking that I gave you the wrong number of steps to the room. It may not be 73, but it's alot.
