I stayed in Ravello 2 years ago. It was beautiful and the view is breathtaking. It is much quieter than Positano. It depends on what you a looking for. Ravello is very relaxing. If I were to go back, I would probably stay in Positano. Ravello is way up over Amalfi. You should still visit it even if you do not stay there.

Hi Jojo,

I would agree with Mary. Ravello is just breathtaking, and you can go up early in the day to visit, and stay late and take a cab back if the buses stop running.

Positano is much more conveniently located for visiting Amalfi, Ravello and Capri and is beautiful at night. I wrote up my travel tips on the Amalfi coast for restaurants, shopping and sightseeing, and it may help in making your decision. Just type in "kiki" into the search box and it will appear!

Have fun!
/we stayed in Ravello about 3 years ago. To reach the town, you must drive up a treacherous winding road which you would not want to do at night. Also, our hotel had minimal air conditioning. I would stay elsewhere

In April, I would do Positano. I have done both--Positano is better located.
