Positano lodging....Albergo Miramare or Hotel Poseidon?

We're celebrating our 10 yr Anniversary in October and need input on these 2 properties in Positano? If you stayed at these or can recommend another "romantic" property in the 275E range or less, please inform us. Grazie!

I've stayed at Hotel Poseidon a few times, and absolutely love it. But that could have something to do with the amazing 3-hour lunch we had there on our second visit, when the chef kept bringing out new delicacies and wines for us to try!

The hotel itself is a lovely and quiet retreat from town, with gorgeous views of Positano, especially from the restaurant terrrace and jr. suites.

Rooms are simple but elegantly decorated with comfortable beds, excellent AC, and, in the jr. suites, large terraces overlooking town.

The staff goes out of its way to make you feel like a house guest, and the food.... Oh, I still dream about it!!

Anyway, this hotel is definitely one of the best we've ever stayed in.

Also stayed at the Poseidon, and agree with the above post, except for the food.
OK, but nothing special compared to what we expect at any number of italian restaurants where we live. However the setting on the terrace makes up for it--about as romantic a setting as you might imagine.

The best restaurant in Positano is "TAVERNA DEL LIONE". The food is VERY GOOD!!! If you are in SANT'AGATA SU I DUI GOLFO you can have dinner in EMILIA restaurant

I am surprised to hear about so-so food quality at The Poseidon. We thought it was superior to much of what we've had in Italy or NYC ( where we live). However, we haven't been in two years, so it's possible it's not as good as we remember!

We loved Miramare when we stayed there 3 years ago. We chose to stay there again this Sept. So Charming with great views. Breakfast is in a beautiful terrace/room with flowering vines on the ceiling!
