Positano hydrofoil
HELP! I need quick advice from you experienced Positano travellers! I'm trying to get from the Naples train station next friday May 14th to Positano w/o the expense of a driver. The hotel in Positano says the hydrofoil service is not available?? Could this be? The hyrofoil site is in Italian. Alilaurl?? Should I just arrive at the port (and which one?) or go for the sure thing of the driver. Thanks, all

I think the hydrofoil only runs in the summer months, however the regular ferry service should be available. Try looking at capri.net/salsa/lang/emg/transport to see if they list schedules, I have used this for Capri-Positano ferry timings, not sure they give all coast town schedules.
Also be aware that on rainy or windy days, the ferries cannot dock in Positano and your only alternative to get out of Positano will be the SITA buses, taxi or car service. SITA bus schedules can be found at sita-on-line.it. Click on Campania. |
Hi anne
Since you will be at the train station, why not take the Circumvesuviana train to Sorrento and the SITA bus to Positano? |
As ira has said take the CV (WWW.vesuviana.it) to Sorrento and then take the SITA bus to Positano. Check with WWW.metrodelmare.com for hydrofoil times as the best way to see Positano for the first time is from the sea.

Thank you for your help! I'm off to Italy tomorrow!

I don't think the ferry starts running until June.
