Thanks for all the good advice! It definitely sounds like we would love a hotel with a pool! It's beginning to feel like the choices are now between Eden Roc and Villa Franca since Poseidon seems geared toward honeymooners.

Does anyone know if there is a website with a map of Positano showing where all the hotels are located?

Isn't La Fenice supposed to be the best place to stay in Positano for the best price?

We tried but no luck.

They're perpetually booked, but have you tried them?

Having seen both hotels last month (from outside only)...

Based soley on location I would choose Eden Roc. The Villa Franca is quite a long walk to the main part of town and the beach. There may be a short cut to the beach from Villa Franca that we did not see and if so then maybe I would change my opinion.

Both hotels are a bit of a hike but the Eden Roc is closer I believe.

Nina - Thanks for the info, but LaFenice has very mixed reviews on TripAdvisor!

Saps - Yes, Villa Franca sounds like a hike although there is a shuttle........

Despite the hefty price, I am considering Eden Roc, not a negative review anywhere!!
