Positano Accommodation, excursions etc.
Hi
My family and I will be arriving in Rome July 6th and want to go to the Amalfi coast for some R & R. My questions are what is the quickest way from Rome to Positano? Has anyone stayed the the Villa Rosa room #18 recently? What excursions are worth doing in the area? Thanks |
Hi ck,
> what is the quickest way from Rome to Positano?< Hire a limo for about 350-400E. Take the ES* to Naples (22E pp) and hire a limo for about 90E Take the ES* to Naples, take the Circumvesuviana train to Sorrento, take the bus - about 30Epp. |
CK - Best excursions? Here are a few for starters:
Capri, Ravello, Amalfi, Pompei, Ercolano, Vesuvius, Sorrento, Naples, Paestum, Ischia, Montepertuso/Nocelle, Path of the Gods, Solfatara, Caserta, Cassino ... Steve |
Room 18 at VR has a limited sea view; La Sirenuse is in front of it.
Excursion - day boat trip 11am - 6pm with Salvatore e Gennarro up and down Amalfi Coast, as long as you are going when the weather is warm. see my 10/04 trip report. (click my name) |
Is room 18 at the Villa Rosa the family flat? My family of four plans to visit Positano in the spring. They offered me the family suite. Is there more than one?

Quickest way to that area is by car. Youc can contact Rianna at [email protected] and she can help. They have drivers that can pick you up. We used them to Naples. I can't imagine that they would not pick up in Rome.
Day trips....we loved Capri. If you like to hike they have some wonderful hikes - so scenic. Sorrento was fun too. I also recommend Amalfi and Ravello. Boats run frequently between Positano and these locations during the summer. Boats take about 30-40 minutes from Positano to these locations. |
