Positano

Hi, is there a ferry from Naples to Positano? Thank you!

Looked an can;t be sure.

There are a ton of ferries but most go to the islands. In any case - how many there are and if they run depends on time of year (few or none off season) and how rough the seas are.

I believe there is one from Sorrento to Positano in high season - but it may only be one per day.

And the schedules vary year by year. I think you need to do a lot of googling based on your specific dates.

There is a ferry from Naples to Sorrento and from Sorrento to Positano, but (I am fairly sure) no longer directly from Naples to Positano.

The Gescab has jet boats from Naples to Sorrento, via Capri. Here is the schedule:

It doesn't say that they're seasonal, but many inter-island services are. Even if it's a year-round service, it may be interrupted because of choppy seas or high winds, which are more common in the autumn and winter.

The OP was asking about service from Naples to Positano. There is a direct service from Naples to Sorrento. Unless they wished to stop in Capri for awhile, it wouldn't help to go via Capri.

Thank you very helpful!

It depends when you're going. It was four years' ago we took the ferry from Naples to Positano. There was a stop in Sorrento. Depending on the weather I think it stops in October. Sorry this is not too helpful. I'll try to find the name of the ferry. Seeing Vesuvius, Sorrento and Positano from the water was wonderful.

Hi

This route map may be useful - http://www.positano.com/images/getti...oast-italy.pdf. See also - http://www.alicost.it/content/?id=6

Looks like the hydrofoil no longer goes to Positano. From Naples
airport catch the Alibus. Runs every 20 minutes, 3 euros, to Molo Beverello port. ffrom there you can take it (the hydrofoil) to Sorrento and then a bus or taxi to Positano.

Metro del Mar used to do the run from Naples to Positano, but it became expensive, even with subsidies, and the company closed or was taken over (just a year or so ago, I think), so that direct route is no longer available. You will use some of the other ferries to get from Naples to Sorrento, then continue on.

The schedule I showed was actually for Naples to Positano, via Capri. I accidentally typed Sorrento rather than Positano. The ferry makes a stop in Capri, but you don't have to change boats.

The schedules change frequently, so you have to check fairly close to your travel date.
