Portugal - What to do in and around Lagos in the Algarve
Planning a trip to Lagos in late October. Will be flying into Faro. Any must do and sees? Should we stay 3 nights in Lagos and mosey on to somewhere else? Should we also do Sagres? Or only one stop in Algarve and then head up to Lisbon, possibly Sintra.....or go to Madeira?
Help....

Hi, here are some ideas when visiting the Lagos area.
Explore the narrow cobbled streets of Lagos. There are many historic buildings including churches, museums and Europe’s first 15th Century slave market.
Stroll around the bustling Lagos marina, or simply watch the world go whilst enjoying a strong bica (espresso) and pastry.
Take a boat ride and explore the grottos around Lagos.
Walk Meia Praia beach (6km, and stop at one of the beach restaurants for lunch and some vinho verde (light green wine).
Explore the unspoilt West coast beaches, rocky coves and quaint fishing villages such as Salema and Burgau.
Visit Sagres and Cape St Vincent you can stand on the most south-westerly point in continental Europe.
Take a drive inland to the spectacular Monchique mountains and spa villages with breathtaking views of the Algarve coastline.
Take in a round of golf at one of the local courses, Boavista http://www.firstgreen.co.uk/boavista/boavista.html or Palmares
Enjoy culinary delights at the local restaurants. Try some one the ones in the back streets (off the tourist trail) where the locals eat. http://www.tripadvisor.com/Restauran...s_Algarve.html
I hope this helps and enjoy your trip.
