Portugal Trip - then Barcelona?

Hello. I am planning a trip for this Fall to Portugal. I am hoping to fly direct to Porto - spend 3 nights. Then travel by train to Lisbon - spend 3 nights. Then travel by train to the Algarve and spend 5 nights. This part is fairly straight forward. But after the Algarves I would like to go to Barcelona and then fly home from there. Does this make sense? I don't want to drive from the Algarves to Barcelona and I don't seem to be able to find a train schedule? Is it a difficult trip from the Algarve to Barcelona? I worry I am trying to fit too much in? Would appreciate any suggestions. Thank you.

I have. There aren't any direct flights and I would really rather be on a train. But I can't seem to find any train routes either.

You'll have to get to Huelva before you can catch a train to Barcelona, changing trains in Sevilla (7hrs 25min travel time).
