add London to my trip??

The prime reason I'll soon be travelling through a few European countries is I'm somewhat drawn to experience first-hand the cultures, languages, landscapes, cities, etc., etc. of my ancestors. I'm a south-american hispanic/latino. I descend from Spanish, Welsh (or English...it's disputed), Italian, and French immigrants. I've already gone to Spain, and stayed in Madrid, Sevilla, Toledo, and Barcelona. Now, I'll be definitely travelling through Italy and France. Here's the strange part...I feel much more closely bound to the french, spanish, and italian sides than the anglo-saxon side...I can't explain it. Maybe it's because of the influence the latin countries of europe had on our continent and culture...I don't know. So, now I'm debating whether I should include the UK as a destination in my trip or not. Anyone have similar dilemmas? Advice?

I applaud your intellectual approach to travel! Go wherever you feel most inclined. Don't feel guilty you aren't so drawn to the UK, if that's the case.

Go where you've got time to appreciate what you're looking for.

Don't feel you've got to see anything just because other people think you should.

You could always go on a day trip from France and get a taster of the UK instead of adding it in as a destination in its own right.

Well certainly the influence of your continent on your upbringing would suggest you'll have much closer ties with the 'Latin' countries though language, traditions and culture. I don't see why you should feel obliged to feel something for Britain simply because some distant relative reputedly came from there (I'm guessing it's a distant ancestor if you're not sure of the Welsh/English thing).

Not strange at all.
