Portugal in January
My girlfriend and I are looking to take a 7/8 day trip to Portugal in January. The idea right now is to spend half the time in Lisbon and the other half in the Algarve. We are in our 20's and looking for authentic/local cuisine, good natural scenery, and historic sights. Of course we'll be throwing in a few bars into that mix.
Is this a good plan? I am wondering if there is anything or any place specific that anyone would recommend or change. Looking for suggestions and recommendations.
Thanks!

We spent two weeks in Portugal over New Years a few years ago. It was mild weather, we both had sweaters and jackets on. It was also quite rainy. The thing we noticed the most was the lack of tourists and things being closed outside of Lisbon.
We enjoyed Lisbon and Sintra a lot!

We haven't been to the Algarve.

Awesome thanks! Yeah, we do not plan on swimming, but with some layers on we won't mind being outside. I guess a concern of mine is whether the Algarve is worth it outside the tourist season. And I will definitely be taking a look at those pictures.
Thanks.
