Portugal for 8 days in Feb; stay in Lisbon and day trip, or travel around?
 

We are flying into Lisbon the last week in February, and we have 8 nights in Portugal. Does anybody recommend staying in Lisbon the whole time and taking day trips, or is it better to actually travel to and stay in other cities during our time? Also, is it easy to travel by public transportation to the cities surrounding Lisbon? (We don't plan on renting a car.)

You are invited to my birthday party on the 27th.

I would get a car for 3 days and see Obidos, Sintra, Nazare, Batahla, Cabo di Roca etc. Also, bus to Evora for an overnite.

Dont forget the Ribatejo region, not far from Lisbon, Tomar, Abrantes, etc.
