Portugal/Azores Itinerary October
 

I'm looking at visiting Portugal for the first time in October and discovered it's significantly cheaper if I return through the Azores instead of a direct flight back to the US. I would love some suggestions or feedback on my basic itinerary, Currently this is my rough draft.

Lisbon 3 nights (4 nights?)
Evora 2 nights(1 night ?)- I have an interest in wine which is what draws me to spend time in the Alentejo
Sao Miguel 4 nights (3 nights moving an additional night to mainland Portugal?)

As always any advice is appreciated.

How very strange that it's cheaper to stop in the Azores. How come ? Are you switching airlines or what ?
