Hello,

One afternoon is a bit short, but it depends on how much you like Port (or how much of it you can consume before you need to lie down). Taylors is probably the best one to visit, but Grahams and Ferreira were very good too.
Oporto is a nice little town, I could spend a day just walking around.

I assume you have already planned to visit Porto's major points of interest - the Palacio da Bolsa, Sao Francisco Church, etc.
You might be interested in a cruise on the Douro River; however I can't give you details on that since we opted to go to Peso da Regua in the Douro Valley and stayed at one of the quintas where we did our wine tasting before going to Porto.
Note that the cellars are not actually in Porto but across the river in Vila Nova da Gaia.

several of the places offer a free tip across the river in one of those special boats if you're going to their tasting.

yes, the afternoon will be enuff!
The Port Wine cellars are the right place to discover this Portuguese wine and all of its history, they close at 17h30/18h00.
I like the "FERREIRA" and "CALÉM" cellars, but you have many more...

To do a river cruise see this site, is the best company:

Re: Suggestions for a Duoro River Cruise. We have booked on the UNIWORLD cruise for Sept. It is a brand new boat and we have heard lots of good reports. Check UNIWORLd's web site for dfetails.

You must eat a "Francesinha" in the restaurant "CUFRA" - Av. da Boavista - Porto.
Five good restaurants in Ribeira of Porto:
Chez lapin (+/- €25)
D. Alzira (+/- €25)
Don Tonho (+/- €30)
Postigo no Carvão (+/- €16)
Filha da Mãe Preta (+/- €13)
