pont/viaduct des Artes

Hello, Are these two things the same thing. I can't seem to find viaduct des Artes on any maps but one of my travelling companions asked for this specifally. A

They are not the same thing. The Viaduc des Artes is the remains of a 19th century above ground railroad viaduct. It had been abandoned for years until the early 90's when the viaduct was saved from demolition and restored into the present Viaduct des Arts. The arches were enclosed with glass and have been turned into spaces for local artists. There are things like workshops, galleries, and stores. The upper (track level) was transformed into an approximately mile long garden known as The Promenade Plantée.

Of course, I meant to include that in my original post. It's in the 12th. I'm not sure how detailed your map is so I'll attempt to describe the location several ways. It follows avenue Daumesnil. This is about two blocks north of Gare de Lyon. Or if you start at the Bastille, and follow the southeastern road departing the circle Rue de Lyon, it splits into Rue de Lyon and avenue Daumesnil.

Thanks very much, have a very good map of Paris and altho the viaduct is not marked I now know where to find it. Allyson
