Pompeii tickets?
Hi
Do I need to buy my tickets for Pompeii ahead of time? Our visit will be July 8-a Tuesday. I have tried the Arethusa website but the Italian is hurting my brain. In the booking process, do you select the special house and the time you'd like to visit it first, and then continue with the ticket purchase? Also can anyone suggest which of these houses is more interesting (Casa degli Amorini dorati
Casa dell'Ara Massima) Menander, the one I wanted to see, is apparently closed on Tuesday. Thanks!

No need to buy tickets in advance. If you want to hire one of these 'talking guide machines', you will need to have a credit card with you. They do not accept cash as a deposit.
It will likely be very hot so go prepared.
Visiting Pompeii, was one of my most memorable travel experiences. Certainly a jaw-dropper!!!

Thanks! I haven't been to Pompeii since I went on a Latin class trip (my first to Italy and certainly the most memorable) waaaaaay back in 1976! This time I'm taking my 12-year-old son! CAN"T WAIT!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

You can buy tickets when you get there, but there are a few sites - including the Casa degli Amorini Dorati and Casa dell'Ara Massima - that can only be seen with a reservation. (Of those two, I prefered the Casa degli Amorini Dorati, but was glad to see both.) There's no cost for these reservations, so if you want to be sure to see them, book ahead!
