I visit this site at least every other day. One begins to recognize "regulars" on this board and, just as with a work environment, you can predict their opinions. Some (i.e. Ben Haines) I find to be consistently beneficial, others not. I wish I had found this site years ago. For me, it's also about giving back. I try to share as much as I can, when a posting warrants. Most annoying: asking about a hotel property SPECIFICALLY and respondents replying, "Why not stay in this $ 12 a night rat hole near the toxic waste dump instead and save your money? My husband and I found it just fine."

I'm here about every day. FYI I just booked a flight to London with friends for the Thanksgiving holiday. I posted a note on this forum requesting great restaurants at a decent price and many folks responded. In fact a Ben Haines sent me a personal email with even more listing. Fodor's is a fabulous resource!

I'm here several times a day but only 9-5 M-F ~~ to prevent boredom at the office! I check the Latin America board for Mexico posts and Europe for Switzerland, Venice, Paris, Amsterdam (the only places I have visited and can answer questions about).

Since I can't travel as much as I like I visit the forum several times weekly if my schedule allows. I don't mind helping someone with an answer regarding places I've been. I know I appreciate the help when it is given. Marilyn

I check in here at least once every 2/3 weeks. A tremendous help in planning our honeymoone!!!

a total of 161.<BR>

I visit it on average every couple of days. It has become a bit of an addiction. First, I was planning my trip and using the info as help. Now, I offer opinions where I can as I have returned from the trip, but it has become part of my routine now (and I should really go to sleep....!).

I take a look at least once a day (the european and the US board). I also consider my participation to to this forum as a means to improve my English. I learned a lot in 5 months.

Whe I put my moniker into the Text Search window I find I have posted 251 messages here since the middle of 1999.<BR><BR>I sometimes use other names for more frivolous comments and so this would bring the number of postings up to 300 in that time.<BR><BR>I have travelled to Europe 12 times since my first visit in 1960 and spent some six years living there, mostly in Germany.<BR><BR>The other board I visit is Asia.<BR><BR>For anyone intersted I live in Australia.<BR><BR>Harzer

I come to this board about once a week when I am researching a vacation spot. Like in the past year it was Hungary, Amsterdam, and London. Now I am researching Ireland.

I'm not a "regular," by any measure. I dropped in a few weeks ago in response to a suggestion from my TA and am rapidly growing impatient with this board's instability.<BR><BR>Once Fodors gets this board under control (ie, stops losing - or deleting - good posts) and makes it easier to navigate, I'll be a "regular."

John Maginot Oct 8th, 2002 07:42 AM

Time to say "Yahoo!"<BR><BR>This board will be good when it's fixed.

Dougherty Oct 8th, 2002 09:50 PM

John, <BR><BR>Exactly. There are many other boards that are much more stab;e and don't lose the content we all come here for.

Francois Oct 11th, 2002 06:03 AM

So posts get "lost." Who cares? At this point you either accept that as an anomaly that will not be corrected or you try another forum.<BR><BR>I hope they fix it this weekend, but if they don't life will go on.

C YA Oct 14th, 2002 07:29 PM

Well, nothing was fixed. Life did go on. Tired of Fodors' lack of interest in addressing the myriad problems on this forum.<BR><BR>If they don't care, I don't care.<BR><BR>C YA.

numbers Oct 14th, 2002 08:26 PM

For amateurs of statistics:<BR>the numbers of Fodors' weekly polls consistently indicate that 70 % are women.

Hi, Well now that we have found this site we can say we will continue to keep up with it as needed. It's great. We love everyone's input and most of all we don't have to just rely on a travel agent or Rick Steves with whom I have some serious issues. Thank you very much.
