My best friend was a doctor's daughter. She wanted to grow up so she could go see "a real doctor" and get a Rx - instead of being treated with the free samples stored in the bathroom! :-)

Her dad must have been an internist. We don't get free samples and--how weird is this---don't even have prescription insurance. Needless to say, no one in our family takes many medications! (This is a variation on "the cobbler's children go barefoot," I suppose.)

Hello,
I appreciate this question because my 16-year old daughter just arrived in France and seems to have brought a case of poison ivy with her! The family she is staying with has never heard of it, so I guess you might be right that it is not in Europe. I am not sure how to advise her from here in the US. We noticed the rash developing (but didn't think of p.i. at the time), and I packed some anti-itch cream. But is there another recommendation of something she could buy in a french pharmacy to help?
