Please with planning trip to Spain

Planning a 50th birthday celebration trip to Spain in late May, early June 2010 - there will be 4 of us - we plan to be in Spain for approx. 10 -14 days and want to spend time on Majorca cycling, going to beach and relaxing (probably rent a villa) and will then visit a city (probably Barcelona) to take in some cultural sites. I'm trying to figure out where on Majorca to stay (what region is best for beaches, cycling...). Please share any suggestions or advice that you may have regarding my trip planning - none of us have been to Spain before. So much we want to see/do yet so little time...Thank you!

Do you have some compelling reason for setting your sights on Majorca rather than mainland Spain?? That time of year, You can find (San Isidro Festival-related) activities in & around Madrid and lots of stuff going on in Andalucia.

I think you should do more research and go back to the drawing board - maybe get some more input from your fellow travelers. If I go back to Spain, I might go to beaches along the Costa Blanca (i.e., Denia, Benidorm, Campello or Alicante); but I would prefer to be somewhere closer to a Major City.

I recommend you check the website www.eurobike.at and look at their routes for cycling in Majorca. Maybe you can get ideas from them or maybe you might even want to use their services.

We used them for a 10 day bicycling trip along the Danube River (Germany/Austria) for our family with kids aged 12 and 14 in 2007. It was great because they booked the hotels, gave us the itinerary and maps and carried the luggage each morning to the next hotel. Other than that, we were on our own. Also, their prices are quite reasonable. The hotels were very simple, but that's what we were looking for. It was a really fun trip.

Have you thought about doing a little more research or possibly working with a travel professional who might set you on the right course? Spain has a lot to offer, but you should have a little better idea of what you are looking for before you set off on this adventure.

sod robert's idea of a professional, whilst you are lost about where to go you can do this all on line.
