Resident Dingle ain't all its made up to be checking in.

Take your time from Dublin to Foxford and then Ballyseede. tour dingle on the way to Kenmare (The Tour Bus's take 4 hours, why spend 2 days?)then head back to Dublin

Doolin is another place that punches above its weight, 2 small villages made up mainly of B&B's with a couple of small shops and 3 pubs. There are some really good places you could chose for Mayo,Co.Galway and Co.Clare.

Thanks,Tony. So where would you stay in Mayo, Clare and Galway? We're very flexible and open to suggestions.

You have 4 nights between Foxford and Tralee so perhaps 2 for Galway and 2 for Clare.

There are a range of places for Galway such as Clifden and Roundstone for the Connemara, a night on Innis Mor? Spiddal, Galway city down to Kinvara.

For Clare I always suggest Ennis which is a great base for the whole of Clare perhaps go down the coast from Galway past the cliffs and burren to Lahinch then to Ennis, have a day for east Clare/Lough Derg then Loophead and over by Shannon Ferry to Ballyseede.

The spare night after the castle for Dingle (see I don't hate the place)then Kenmare.

Your itinerary sounds similar to one that we did a few years back. We stayed at the Park House Hotel in Galway for three nights and enjoyed it very much. I thought it was a good value - nice, clean rooms and a great breakfast. There is a pub across the street that had trad and step dancing that was a lot of fun. http://www.parkhousehotel.ie/index.html We did a day trip to the Aran Islands and it was a highlight of the trip.

We also stayed at Ballyseede Castle in Tralee. It was very comfortable and the grounds are lovely. Try to arrive early so you can enjoy your time there. It was a belated anniversary gift from my parents.

We spent an overnight in Kilkenny between Dublin and Kinsale. It was a cute place and it would have been nice to spend a little more time there.

We also stayed in Kenmare for two nights. One day, we explored the Ring of Kerry. We went later in the day and counter clockwise. There was not much traffic and we saw a beautiful sunset.

Check out Westport while you are in Foxford. It was a recommendation made from my relative who lives in Dublin and it did not disappoint. While you are in Wicklow, you must see Glendalough and Powerscourt. Both were awesome.

What do you plan to see while you are in Ireland? I’m curious to know your plans.

Since you are going to Foxford, consider some time on Achill Island. Really worth the trip!

Lucky you getting to see the game! I have been to Ireland many times but last trip we did a tour to Inishmore. We did public transportation this trip so booked a tour with

http://www.fahertytours.com/aran-islands.php

Micheal grew up here and he was a great guide. We took the fast ferry and didn't know at the time but he has a bus waiting to take you around the island. We were thinking of renting bikes but glad we didn't or would have missed a lot. I want to go back and stay the night next trip. I have used Doolin as a base for touring county Clare and enjoyed it. We did a day tour to the Aran islands but this is a small ferry and not the fast ferry. You can horse back ride here and the pubs do have excellent music and food. Dingle, ok but can do it fast. I love Dublin and still find new things to do and see there. You didn't say how long you would be there before the game.
