hopscotch, bad news about Chope d'Alsace, I'm afraid. It's no longer there, having been replaced a few years ago by a literary café called Les Editeurs.

shellio, sorry to hear that. I was in Paris just two months ago and walked only a few blocks from the location but didn't go there. Instead I went to another of my favorites, Bistrot de la Gare, but it has changed names and had no clients. So I passed on that. Somebody in another cafe said it was a national monument now. Is that so? It is a beautiful place and used to be very reasonably priced.

I guess I gotta get out more . . shame Chope d'Alsace is closed . . I liked that one! . . o well . . gotta find a new one next time we are there.
