Please recommend a city to stay in for a Ferrari fan on honeymoon: Modena, Maranello, or Bologna?

Hi Everyone! Let me give a synopsis of the situation. I will be on my honeymoon this coming June and my lovely fiancee and I have worked out a deal where we will travel to Italy for our honeymoon for 18 nights and she has graciously allowed me to indulge in my Ferrari habit. We've worked it out so that we will spend 2 nights doing Ferrari related stuff because I don't want to spend too much of the honeymoon doing Ferrari stuff and she doesn't want to do one night stays. I figure that I will only need a good portion of the day to get my touristy fix at Disneyland... er Ferrariland to visit the museum, snap pics in front of the factory, visit the track, shop at the stores, and grab a meal or two at restaurants that are passionate about Ferrari. Generally speaking, I hope to soak in a town immeresed in the culture. My concern is that if I stay in Maranello, we may run out of things to do quickly. Is there not much to do there other than Ferrari stuff? Would Modena or Bologna be a better choice, allowing me to hang out in Maranello while also offering more activities once I'm done satisfying my fix? What transportation method is used to get from Modena to Maranello? Bus? Train? I don't know too much about these three cities other than their location relative to Ferrari so any insight into these locales would be greatly appreciated! Thanks!

You're such a Ferrari fan that you're spending all that time there and you're doing your honeymoon by bus or train. come on -- be a sport - and rent one!

nytraveler: if you know of a place to rent Ferraris for a day or even hourly please let me know. That would be fantastic! The only source I've found is a Ferrari tour that rents you a Ferrari for 3 days but the price is way out of my budget.

I seem to recall soemone's fiancee posted about this a while ago (maybe yours?) and I did some internet research to discover that you really can't see the factory unless you already own a Ferrari and there's not much more there to see. Some other threads you might read

Don;t know the details on a Ferrari - we had a Porsche - but we were coming from Germany - where the weekly rental wasn;t bad. And we did a full facory tour - but apparently they are private only and have to be reserved in advance by special request of a dealer (ours was a racing friend of my former beau).

Thanks for the tips everyone! I think I will stay in Bologna and look into the possibility of renting a Ferrari for a day.

No Ferraris - - but maybe a lot of fun to see if there is something here - - http://www.zephyrus.it/eng/cars.htm - - that might scratch your fancy.

Whatever you work out, congratulations on your new life in marriage... and...

Best wishes,

Rex

I also have been looking for a special car to rent. (Yeah my tag line means two carbs).I have an old italian convertible in the garage but it isn't a Ferrari.

I believe Zephyrus has offices in Rome and Chiusa (near Sienna). Classic Garda (on Lake Garda) has some 4 cylinder cars.

You might try a Google using "noleggio Ferrari" (Italian for Rent Ferrari) or Classic Hire (the british phrase).

Don't know the cost, nor the minimum number of days.
