Betsy, good idea, thanks, now I have to email this thread to myself so I can save your suggestions ;;) Deborah

<<It does not work.>>

And yet, as my search for "rbmd" would attest, it's not true to say that it universally fails to work, with particular reference to posts from last summer.

Janis, I feel your pain! Once I tried to find my report posted in June 2005. No luck.

<<Once I tried to find my report posted in June 2005. No luck.>>

It's not that</B hard, Faina...

Speaking rather generically (and this is only true right now - - the numbers will be different in a month or in a year)...

...all of your June (2005) posts are on a few pages:

some on http://www.fodors.com/forums/pgUser....&start=250

with the rest on

http://www.fodors.com/forums/pgUser....&start=300

http://www.fodors.com/forums/pgUser....&start=350

or

http://www.fodors.com/forums/pgUser....&start=400

with a few spillovers on

http://www.fodors.com/forums/pgUser....&start=450

:)

Rex, I know, I can click on my name and scroll and read them all... this is not what I meant! Takes so long to scroll.

If I want to pull up only one report, it's impossible. Try this one: "This space is reserved for Faina's Switzerland report" - this is the one which never comes up.

Eloise Aug 2nd, 2005 11:35 AM

FainaAgain: No, you will not be able to bring up a single post, even if you put the right words in quotation marks in the search box.

As has been mentioned a number of times, Fodor's has not done any indexing since May 2 and they don't seem to know if and when they will do it again. So for anything since May 2, 2005, the search function will not work, not that it worked all that well before that date...

rex Aug 2nd, 2005 11:42 AM

Eloise makes the point correctly that has been made numerous times before.

My point, Faina, is that you don't have to scroll back 50 at a time, you can jump directly back 500 at a time or 1500 at a time, if you want to get back to a given point in the past.

Deborah Ann,

Did you once live in Sunnyvale?

rex Aug 3rd, 2005 10:11 AM

topping...

As I said in the first reply on this thread, there isn't any easy way to get this message to persist.

Betsy Aug 4th, 2005 06:17 AM

LOL, Underhill. I replied to DeborahAnn's plight with her folders, and I live in Sunnyvale.
:-)

Underhill Aug 4th, 2005 08:05 AM

I asked because I used to correspond with Deborah Ann via the BP site. We were scheduled to meet at the Dufy exhibition in Paris a few years ago, but she didn't appear and I never heard from her again. Still worried about her.

Betsy Aug 4th, 2005 01:16 PM

Hmmm...I clicked on DeborahAnn's user name and see that she posts often. Maybe you two will reconnect!

rex Aug 8th, 2005 06:57 PM

Need to bring this back up to the top again! Might try simply citing this, janis!

In case Faina Again reads this:

I found her Switzerland report thread by using an Advanced Google search, with "fainas switzerland report" in the search box and domaine= fodors.com

The thread was at the top of the results:
