PLEASE HELP WITH ROME HOTELS ON A BUDGET
Hi everyone--
I'm in a bit of a rut--we are going on a family vacation to Italy next June. The group will consist of 8 couples, my parents, uncles and their wives. This is the first time any one of them has traveled outside the u.s. since coming here 30 years ago from Iran. They are all picky and thrifty. I need someone to recommend some Rome hotels for this crowd--max per couple is 150.00 including vat and all that. No shared bathrooms, clean rooms, you know, EVERYTHING for nothing. I appreciate everyone's help. |
I think I would call a Travel agent and blame it on them if everything wasn't to your family's liking. Tooooo much stress for a vacation!!

yeap, agree w/previous poster. This group has some good ingredients for a disaster vacation (picky and thrifty, YIKES!). Pick a pre-packaged tour and blamed it on them. Globus, Trafalgar, go-today.com.

Try priceline. For early june,
central Rome, i got a 3*( subjectiv) hotel for $90USD/night. This is with double bed. -krish |
Thanks for taking the time to respond, but I'm not interested in a travel agent--interested in personal experience. If travel agents were so great, we'd all be using them. So that piece of advice was really no help.
If anyone has an actual ANSWER to my question, please let me know. |
I stayed at Hotel Navona in Rome in March. 125 Euro for a triple. The room was sparse, but clean. The reason we chose this hotel was the location. Close to so much. We only needed to take a cab to the Vatican and to and from the train station. Walked everywhere else we went (normal tourist attractions). That's with me being 7 mos. pregnant and w/our 2 year old. Good location for older folks, I believe. www.hotelnavona.com
And also, there's nothing wrong with travel agents. I've used them lately and especially if you find one that specializes in Europe or Italy itself, you'd be surpised at what they could come up with. |
" So that piece of advice was really no help.
If anyone has an actual ANSWER to my question, please let me know." Maybe if you weren't so rude in your reply to the advice you were given, you'd get more help. I try to move on from replies that don't interest me. They were just trying to help and can't read your mind. One more thing... the people on this board aren't the only people who travel. I know a lot of people who us T/A's. |
HEYTHATSMYBIKE--
STOP WASTING YOUR TIME AND MINE--IF YOU HAVE NOTHING USEFUL TO SAY, KEEP YOUR TRAP SHUT |
That was certainly helpful.
