Please help with my Paris, London, Ireland itinerary.
 

Am planning a two to three week trip in September, 2003. Here's my tenative itinerary. This is our first trip to these cities/country. Is this a good first time itinerary? Am I leaving enough time to see the highlights (knowing we'll probably be back at some point in time)?<BR>Day 1 Arrive in Paris<BR>Day 2 Paris <BR>Day 3 Paris<BR>Day 4 Paris<BR>Day 5 Eurostar to London<BR>Day 5 London<BR>Day 7 London<BR>Day 8 London<BR>Day 9 Ryan air to Dublin<BR>Day 10-16 Ireland <BR>As you can see I do have some room to add days if needed (up to 21) Any suggetions?<BR>Thanks for your help!<BR>Pam

If you just want Paris, London and Ireland (and no English countryside, etc) then I would add 2 or 3 days to London and maybe 1 or 2 to Ireland.<BR><BR>Paris is a more compact city than London and most of the main sites are basically within walking distance. London takes longer to see since the mail sites are spread ove a wider area.<BR>

We did a very similar itinerary a few years ago, except arrived London, then Paris, then Ireland (also via Ryan Air.) I love Paris, can take or leave London, and was amazed at how much I enjoyed Ireland (respecially outside Dublin). If you have more time, I'd add it in Ireland, galavanting about the countryside. We hired a driver and it was terrific - he was able to warn us of the more crowedd times at popular sites and recommend good restaurants.

Pam-I arranged a trip for my husband and myself and 8 friends to Ireland, London and then Paris in June of 2001.<BR>I believe it is usually cheaper to fly into London but one of my only requests was that we go to Ireland first. We got a great rate with Continental because there were 10 of us. From Ireland (we flew into Shannon and out of Dublin) we flew Ryan Air into London.<BR>Our trip was 19 days total inc. travel days-1 travel day then 10 days Ireland, 4 days London and 4 days Paris and another travel day home.<BR>Where in Ireland do you want to go?<BR>Shadow<BR>4 days Paris-we flew home from Paris.

Shadow;<BR>Sounds like your trip was almost a reverse of what we want to do.<BR>We want to probably fly into Dublin for a day or so and then rent a car and meander along the southern part-Ring of Kerry, Dingle Peninsula etc. We could possibly fly home from Shannon. We're using free air miles so I believe we can do an open jaw flight. Highlights, must see/do of your trip? Thanks for your help! Pam

IMHO, any trip that involves both Lonodn and Paris should include London first, because (1) you won't have to deal with jet lag AND language differences at the same time and (2) then you get to eat great food in Paris AFTER dealing with British food. To do it the other way around is a letdown.
