Sarastro, thanks so much. Took awhile to find the exact name of the airport, but got it. Looks like about an hour driving time is right, so will add maybe 45 min extra for traffic and finding the rental drop-off. Stu Dudley says it's easy, so hope he's right!

Everyone is right, I got the rental rate wrong. I checked a couple of other sites and realized my mistake. Thanks for all the info.

How far in advance show we book train tickets from Paris to Dijon?

loklok, thanks for the info on driving speeds. Always good to be forewarned!

Book tickets 3 months in advance to get the best chance on PREM fares. So if you plan to travel on July 10, purchase tickets on April 9 at 6:15 PM US eastern time - which is 00:15 in France on April 10.

This site seems to be more US friendly than the French site

I have not used this site yet, (will use it in a couple of weeks), so I don't know if you pay in Euros or your local currency. If it's Euros, inform your CC Company to expect the foreign transaction

Thanks for the info Stu. 3 months is coming up in a couple of weeks! So excited to get the shelter and travel nailed down so that I can start reading more about the area and brushing up on my French!

I have booked two different tickets on Capitainetrain. Both times I had conflicts with trains running on May 1 and May 8 due to holidays. Capitainetrain was very helpful in letting us know when our trains were up for buying seats. We received very polite, quick responses to all our questions. Their website is very easy to use and I had no problem with charging the two sets of tickets on my Visa card. They are a great organization to work with.
