Fishing village -

I have never seen a more picturesque one then Port-en-Bessins on the Normandy coast. Stop there for lunch on your way from Arromanches to Colville-sur-mer.

BowenLinda: Thanks. As I said, I think that every Canadian should see these sights, and I'm happy to provide information. I was last in Normandy this past June for the 60th anniversary, and expect to be there again this May, after visiting the Netherlands for the anniversary of the liberation.

Hi,

No one's mentioned putting the Languedoc and Rousillon regions on the itinerary (although could be b/c Photobear's card is already pretty full). My husband, infant, and i are headed for a two week trip to France this May and are planning on a week in Languedoc followed by a week in Paris. W/ the former, we're looking for a medieval experience (going to be looking up historical sites of the Albigensian crusades). Any comments or recommendations from the crowd?

claude--try the website "Les Plus Beaux Villages de France". I drove throughout France for 17 days. I avoided the big cities and focused on the small medival villages. I found this website to be great. They have villages in all four corners of France.
