I would just add that since they have a lot of time available add some chillout time. Give them days which aren't planned, maybe on a coast, or in lovely scenery, that they really do have some bonding time. Bonding needs talking and chilling too.

My first two thoughts:

- I think Rome, Venice and Florence qualify as "highlight". More than Germany and Belgium.

- I'd be exhausted at Day 15. This is a survival trip! My tip: keep your husband happy too. It's better for your daughter.

Thanks everyone for all the suggestions. I think I am about ready to finalize the trip. Will post again with more exact details later. To answer some of the questions, yes, I am planning and not going, son is going to summer school so I'm left behind to get him started. Yes, they will have some down time. I am basically just trying to get them to the general area give them one or two things to check out and let them decide on everything else that they want to do in that area. My daughter has already been to Italy with the choir group, so that is why I have not included that this time. She has also been to Paris but know husband would like that and know that she would love to go back again. Thanks again and will try to get the final itinerary up later for any additional thoughts or ideas from everyone.

Okay here's another attempt. Tell me what you think.

Day 1 - Arrive in Athens from US at approx. 11am. Take bus to port. Catch ferry (Seajet2) at 3:30 and arrive in Mykonos at 5:35.

Looking for place in Mykonos to stay. Understand from different things that the Rochari District is a good place. Any suggestions??

Day 2, 3 and 4 - See the sights, beach, etc. in Mykonos

Day 5 - Ferry back to Athens at 1:10 arriving at 3:15.

Lodging - Hotel Metropolis, Hotel Cecil - any thoughts on these??

Day 6 and 7 - see normal tourist sites

Day 8 - Athens to Prague - Sky Europe 4:10p arrive 6pm

Lodging - Arpacey Hostel??

Day 9 and 10 - sites of Prague

Day 11 - Travel to Germany. This is where I am still having problems. Thinking of going to Berlin staying there for three nights and then maybe Hamburg for three nights. Or maybe Munich, or maybe I forget Berlin altogether and do Munich and drive north towards Belgium???

Day 17 - Arrive Bruge. Lodging Hotel Botaniek??

Day 18 and 19 - Relax around Bruge

Day 20 - Brussels

Day 21 - train to Paris - Lodging - not sure - anyone with good hostel recommendations?

Day 22, 23 and 24 - See the sights and shop Paris

Day 25 - Fly Easyjet to Lisbon leave 12:25 arrive 2:00

Day 26, 27 and 28 - Sites around Lisbon

Day 29 Travel to Spain.

Day 30, 31, 32, and 33 travel around Spain. Once again I am not sure yet where but would like to end in Madrid to fly back to US on Day 34.

So, how's it looking, any better?? Thanks for the help.

Hi F,

> then maybe Hamburg for three nights.

What draws you to Hamburg?

I would choose Vienna or Salzburg or Munich.

From there visit Strasbourg and take the TGVEst to Paris, OR

Fly Munich to Brussells and then head to Bruges and Paris.

Well, nothing draws me to Hamburg. Really, nothing draws me to Germany, but husband is 100% german and wants to go there, so that's why I'm trying to work it in.

eerdem, thanks. That looks wonderful. I think I am getting to close with this itinerary to add any more stops though. But, my son graduates next year and I am sure he will want a similar trip, maybe we can do Turkey, Croatia and Italy for him!

Hamburg is too far north. Maybe Cologne is a good alternative for your husband(?)

From Prague to Brussels:
Prague
Dresden (2 days)
Berlin (3 days)
Cologne (2 days)
Brussels

Btw, I think 2 days in Prague is one day too short.

Hi F,

>Well, nothing draws me to Hamburg.

Then skip it.

There are better places in Germany. Dresden is nice, and not far from Prague.

The Dachau concentration camp, near Munich, would be well worth a visit for your daughter, as is Terezin, near Prague.

Hi Flit - About Germany, just a plug for Munich...Charming Bavarian city and a great base for day trips to Neuschwanstein (Mad Kind Ludwig's Castle - not a medieval castle, but picturesque and very famous), Salzburg, Berchtesgaden (Hitler's Eagle's Nest), Dachau.
