Please Help! Train Travel in Portugal

We are traveling in Portugal in July. I have hotels booked in several cities and am trying to figure out how to use trains to get from one to the other. I am stymied! I went to www.cp.pt, but I can't seem to access schedules. If anyone can help, I can provide the places we need to travel to/from. Thank you!

Try clicking on the Union Jack in the top right hand corner to get the English version and use Internet Explorer as the browser

The Portuguese site worked for me but an easier site is:

where are you trying to get to? In portugal, the best mode of transportation are buses, they are reliable and they are on time.

Yes except for the main rail line Faro (Algarve)-Lisbon-Coimbra-Porto buses IME are a better bet - but for any place on the main rail line then trains are faster and have improved greatly in the past few years

Most of the timetables are available for download in pdf format from the http://www.cp.pt site.

Also, if you go to my blog at:

http://barlaventostravelblog.blogspot.com/

Scroll down on the right hand panel until you come to the section entitled:

»» Algarve & Portugal - Travel Transport Links

You will find links to the Portuguese Railways Porto/Lisbon/Faro and Algarve Lines Train Timetables in pdf format.
