Please Help! Suggestions on 10-hour lay-over in Brussels

Fodorites, we need your valuable input!

We are arriving into Brussels (BRU) from the US on a Saturday at 8:30am (mid-December). We will be flying from Brussels S Charleroi (CRL) on Ryanair at 6:20pm the same day.

We are thinking of going to Brugges before our evening flight.

1) What is the best way from BRU airport to Brugges? How long is the trip?

2) What is the best way to get from Brugges to Charleroi? How long is the trip?

3) Are there lockers at the Brugges train station where we can leave our luggage?

4) What itinerary can you recommend for a few hours in Brugges?

We do realize that we have to check-in at least 90 minutes before our 6:20pm flight at Cherolai.

Thanks in advance for all your help!

There are tours by bus in Brussels that are nice if you have limited time. You depart near Grand Plaz (I forgot the name). You might be pushing it for time going to Brugges, but if you do, take one of the boat tours. I can't remember where we picked it up, but I'm sure any guide book will have the info. Just walking around the Grand Plaz in Brugges is nice, a few museums and churches nearby. Have fun!
