Cordoba at night is magical..during the day it can be very crowded with day-trippers. I'd spend the night.

is 2 nights in granada enough to experience it all with alhambra?

It depends on what you wanted to do. I spent one night in Granada and took an overnight bus to Madrid. (It was supposed to be two nights in Granada but that's another story.) I saw the Alhambra, roamed around the Albacin, visited Federico Garcia Lorca's summer home, and went to the theatre for an evening, all at a pretty relaxed pace. I suppose there was more to do there but I pretty much covered everything I wanted to do.

I visited Cordoba in a day-trip from Madrid. I was in Cordoba for about 6 hours hours, and this was more than enough time. I would not spend overnight there.

In these 6 hours I was able to visit the Mezquita, the Alcazar, and also the Palacio de Viana. I also walked all over the Judería area (saw the old synagogue), all over the White Neighborhood, and had enough time left over to also walk through most of the business district. Cordoba was nice enough for this short visit, but there is not enough to see to make a longer stay worthwhile.

Let's face it: any night in any town is good if you are out and about keeping your mouth shut and visiting locals' places. However, a night in Granada is, IMO, worth ore than a night in Cordoba. The unique thing about Cordoba is the Mezquita. Most everything else you will see in Cordoba, you will have seen in Sevilla pr will see in Granada. Having seen the Mezquita, I'd head for Granada. However, if it turns out that you are in Cordoba for a day or two - relax, enjoy and don't sweat it. Life is not about checkmarks!

Thanks for the help...Granada wins out for 3 nights. Cordoba will be a day trip on our way to Granada from Seville.
