Please help Procida

We would like to spend some time on Procida in May 2006. Evrything appears to be full and cannot get a response from Hotel Celeste, fax's e-mail etc. Anybody know what is going on there?

When you say everywhere appears to be full, do you mean that online booking sites are showing no rooms available ? If so, that's probably because they have actually started booking for next May yet.

Most if not all accommodation will be closed for the winter now & will not re-open until March or April, so you probably won't get a response until then.

In the meantime, check out this old trip report. (I hope my link works)

Caroline what I actually meant by reasonable was no five star hotels. That's it! maybe I am trying to book too far in advance for Procida (Celeste)so I will try some time in the new year.
Thanks RD

Rd,

I came across your post and I am also trying to reserve a room with Hotel Celeste in Procida. I am trying to reserve for September, but I can't even get the fax to go through. Did you have any luck contacting them?

According to their web site it looks like they are open over the winter, but maybe they are not, and that is what the problem is. Just wondering if you have had any response.

No response from the hotel as yet but I did get one from BBplanet.it
They say that they have processed my reservation on behalf of Celeste. Still waiting for some communication from the hotel itself?

Rd-
I have always had much better results by calling directly. Sometimes family-run hotels have one designated person who handles email and faxes and they might be otherwise occupied if it's off season. I always try to make contact by phone as well as using email.
Last time I stayed on Procida, my hotel was booked but I went anyway (I had to be there on a certain day to photograph a yearly event) and they managed to get me a room in a house nearby.
