Please help: Paris apt. choices
 

looking for a 2br for three adults and one child; 5-15 min. walk to Jardin du Lux.

any thoughts on these would be appreciated!

hmmmm, rue lanneau. i thought i read a review (on slow trav?) that mentioned an airshaft, but can't find it now.

Rue Gay-Lussac. Of course it's the "pricey" one - isn't that always the case :)

It's 60 seconds to the park, it's gorgeous, and it's enormous. What's not to like?

The Private Paris got a bad review here on fodor's, but I also think that it has gotten some good reviews as well, but I remember reading this one recently:

I also think that the first one on vrbo looks very nice and there were a good selection of pictures. Maybe if you emial them they can send you more pics to view.
Parisflat does indeed look nice, a good choice too.

How friendly are you all? - is the third adult willing to share a double bed with the child for however long you are staying there?
We always insist on twin beds in at least one bedroom so that DD [18] and DS [15] do nt have to share- we've even gone to the extreme of getting 3 bedrooms on long stays in order to keep the peace.
Are you going to be comfortable in such a lovely apartment as the Gay Lussac with the said child?
I would widen the area I was looking in in order to get more space. After all, Paris is easy to get around and there are many good central areas to stay in.
When are you going and for how long?

I stayed in the rue de Lanneau apartment for a week in February. The two bedrooms face the street. The living room faces the air shaft. It wasn't until I looked out that window and down in the evening that I realized it overlooks the dining area for the restaurant Le Coupe Chou. There are twinkling lights underneath and the dining room must be have a glass or plastic roof.

The apartment that susannah references that got a bad review was owned by the same person but was not the same apartment. My experience dealing with the owner and his representative was entirely positive.

thanks, all. we are going next spring (end of march) for 6 nights. the other apt. from parisian flat was totally white in the pix, and not as white in person. daughter is 11 and we're not messy. 3rd adult is an artist friend who will room in the twin beds with my husband. maybe larger with 2 bath is the way to go?
