Please help me identify an artist

Can anyone tell me the name of the artist who painted this work? It's in the Musée du Petit Palais in Avignon.
Thanks in advance!

Have you tried a Google image search? I have had good success with it, particularly since it has gotten better lately as it learns.

good job. I actually went to the museum gallery website and went room by room and did not find it.

Awesome, AJPeabody!
Like Sassafrass, I had tried the museum's web-site, and I even tried google images -- but didn't go on to the second page. My bad.

Its a really beautiful painting, IMO, and I'd never heard of Emilie. Nice to know! :star: :) :tu:

Yes, I was also intrigued by the painting and will add it to my list. It reminded me a bit of Fra Angelico. Beautiful.

@ historytraveler: Isn't what one can learn on Fodor's wonderful?

One of the things I love about this painting is the level of detail in the angels:

Interesting that the angels are line drawings. Don’t know if they were meant to be completed ( painted ) or not. I love looking at the detail. I have not had much luck in finding any information about this painter...Emilie. Might make researching Emilie my winter project. If anyone has further information, Please let me know.

I agree, historytraveler -- a fascinating work! And like you, I haven't been able to find anything about Emilie. If you -- or any one else -- learns anything, I would welcome the information.
