Please help me get to Luxembourg
Planning way ahead here, but would like to visit Luxembourg City on next trip to Paris. SNCF (for Prems) is a bit mystifying as there appear to be a plethora of stations from which one must choose, and the "help" screens revert to French.
Your advice on a high-speed one-day visit is most appreciated - thank you. |
Here's how to book in English on the SNCF site. Go to www.voyages-sncf.com. Click on the "Train" tab (between the "Accueil" and "Hotel" tabs). On the new page click anywhere in the long URL at the very top of the screen. Find LANG=FR and change it to LANG=UK. Hit the Enter key. You'll get a booking page in English. Enter Paris as your departure point and Luxembourg as your arrival point. Leave France as the default country for retrieving your tickets. If Prem's are available, you can print them yourself.

Thanks a million, Tim! Who would have thought that one could change a URL? I'm "just practicing" at the moment, but was able to go all the way through to point of purchase so will have no fear when it's time to actually do it. Thanks!

You're welcome, nyse!

PRINT OUT every page as you go through the booking/payment process. Last summer, SNCF booked me on the wrong train and denied it ever happened. But I had the printouts to show my credit card issuer that it was the French web site that had screwed up. They back-charged SNCF, and all was well.
