Please help in picking Rome Hotel

I'm leaving for Italy in 1 month and I can't decide between Residenza Cellini vs. Hotel San Carlo. Both have gotten great reviews on this site and on trip advisor. Does anyone have any suggestions?

Thank you!

I have one comment.......don't believe all you read on Tripadvisers. I was in there a couple days ago and saw a very bad review for the hotel we are staying at in Rome. Later the same day I went to go back and print it out to show DH and it was gone!!!!!!???

They seem to keep the good ones and the bad reviews disappear. I sure won't trust that place ever again.

Timlin, I've noticed that too. The first time I thought maybe I just made a mistake when I couldn't find the one I had read before. But then another time I spotted a horrible review of a hotel that had just been posted, and a couple days later it was gone. I'm not sure how that works since there are plenty of "bad" reviews that stay on the site.

Jenny,
I was supposed to travel to Rome in 2003 and after much research, I booked Residenza Cellini. It gets wonderful reviews and everyone seems to love it. Unfortunately, I had to cancel that trip and when we went this year, we couldn't get it. Our cancellation was quite close to last minute and I must say they were just wonderful about it and made us feel that we'd be welcome anytime. I don't know if you'll get it at this late date, though.
