Please Help Eurail Pass
Hi can anyone off advice.
I am travelling from Brusells to Berlin. Then Rome to Florence Florence to Venice Venice toMilan Milan to Nice Nice to Paris I have a tentative booking 1st class Can you tell me what pass you would recommend? Would it be a 3 country Pass. We will only be away for 4 weeks. Also we are hoping to get a sleeper from Brusells to Berlin. I appreciate your help. thanks |
Check www.railsaver.com and make sure you check "only if it saves me money". Seems unlikely that you need a rail pass at all - - ordinary ("point-to-point") tickets will probably be cheaper, since you are traveling so much within Italy (where train travel is very, very economical withOUT a pass).
How are you getting from Berlin to Rome? Airline? See www.whichbudget.com Best wishes, Rex |
Rex gives good advice. Be sure to check the "economy" at www.railsaver.com or ww.railpas.com
You'd need a pass that covers at least four countries but you might be able to buy point-to point tickets for the Belgium-Berlin portion and then a France and Italy pass for the rest. If you are taking TGV services in France a pass might just be worth it. |

Go to www.sncf.com and clickk on PREMS. You can do Milan-Paris and Paris-Nice for as low as 25E. Oddly enough you can't get PREMS for Nice to Paris. ((I)) |
"Oddly enough you can't get PREMS for Nice to Paris."
Which is exactly why a pass MIGHT be worth it!! |
If you go to ricksteves.com you can buy eurorail passes through him. He explains the different tickets very well. With these types of tickets you are not limited to the type of train that you travel on, but they do charge you extra if you reserve a seat. Usually you do not need reservations. Enjoy your trip.
