Please don't ask me for the food glossary right now

Sorry, but I'm in St-Cirq with the laptop, which doesn't have that file on it, and so can't send it now. Dozens of Fodorites already have it now - just put out a general request.

Thanks.

My dear St. Cirq,

I am shocked, truly shocked, that you would go off to your beautiful home in the Dordogne and so forget those of us on this forum who rely upon you for their daily sustenance that you did not bring all of your files with you.

Have a nice visit.

You might also have a look at The A-Z of French food, published by Scribo. Slim, easy to carry book, that we use even after 12 years in France - you never know when they're going to slip some new term or regional variation onto a menu. Avaiable from Amazon in the UK and in France, but perhaps not in NOrth America. The publisher does indicate on their web site that they will ship to other countries. http://www.hub-uk.com/interesting/a-...rench-food.htm

If all else fails, be adventurous for ONCE in your life when ordering. The only rule: if you look down and it is still moving, send it back.

Unless of course they're oysters, and you want them to be still moving! I have friends who tap the shell to make sure they move.
