hi, my friend and i are planning to go to europe mid-september we'd be spending around 24-26 days

we've actually decided on the following itinerary but would like to get a 2nd opinion from seasoned travelers

we decided to fly open jaw flying into barcelona and then flying out of milan

here goes our schedule

4 days barcelona, take a budget airline to Paris

4-5 days in Paris, take a budget airline to Rome

4-5 days Rome,then take a train north to Florence

3-5 days Florence (day trip to siena,pisa and if time/budget permits Cinque Terre , take the train to Venice

2-3 days Venice, take the train to Milan (pass thru Verona)

1 night in Milan

what do you fodorites think?

Hi al,

If you fly www.myair.com from Paris ORY to Venice VCE and leave from Rome, you won't have to go to Milan. You could add the time to Venice.

How early is your departure flight from Milano? If it is in the afternoon, you could spend your last night in Verona.

Otherwise, fly out of Venezia.

Unless there is some cost savings or other reason to fly out of Milan, I see little reason to include that. I'd probably cut out either Paris or Barcelona as well & spend the additional time in Italy. Actually, I'd spend the entire time in Italy.
