Please comment on Itinerary .... Having some doubts
Good Morning! Myself and 2 friend are leaving for Italy in 3 weeks and I'm starting to wonder if our itinerary makes sense. I've read a lot of posts saying CT isn't worth a week, so I cut it back to 3 days .... the rest is below. Please help!
2 Apr - Arrive Venice (this is pre-arranged and can not be changed) 3 Apr - To CT 6 Apr - To Florence 9 Apr - To Ferrara 11 Apr - To Venice 15 Apr - Depart Venice Now I'm starting to wonder if this is too many stops. And maybe we should spend more time in CT.... and some how try to cut out Ferrara. The only problem is that one of our travelers will be heading back to Venice on her own on 8 April or else I would have extended CT until 7 Apr but it didnt make sense to have her move around so much. Comments?? |
You're making four internal trips during a stay of less than two weeks. Each trip takes time, and you'll also spend time packing and unpacking, finding and checking into your hotel, and finding your way around your new city. If I were you I'd cut out either Ferrara or CT and I'd spend more time in Florence, if you really like art, or Venice, for the unique look of the city.

Since you are returning to Venice, I might try to head for the CT immediately. Why check into a hotel there for one night? Just get on a train after you arrive; there is a bus to the train station.

Frankly, if it were me, I would set some time aside to go to Verona.
Spent quite a bit of time there and enjoyed it immensely...particularly the Arena Opera! Only ~1-1 1/2 hours away from Venice. |
Here is what I would recommend.
Arrive Venice. Take train to CT. CT 5 Florence 4 Venice 5 You can take daytrips from any of these places. |
