Please advise as to which Florence Hotels: Hotel Lungarno v. Porta Rosa v. Hermitage Hotel
I would greatly appreciate any comments on the following Hotels in Florence:
Hermitage Hotel
Hotel Lungarno
Hotel Porta Rosa
We will be on our honeymoon -- and are thinking about booking Hotel Lungarno (early April so we wouldn't really be able to enjoy rooftop dining at Hermitage)...Thanks.

Good orning, arnalann
Would second the LUNGARNO, As Marija
suggest get a room overlooking the Arno
not overlooks the river but gives you
a very good view of Firenze. We have
not used the LUNGARNO but its sister
hotel CONTINENTAL since 1981. On the
Lungarno's web site it has a wonderful
picture of the view available. And this
is perhaps the reason it fills before the Continental. Plenty of ristorantes
around Mama Gina and Celestinos are
with in less than a half block...
Get the view, its part of the experience..Richard of La Grange Park, Il..

I liked the Porta Rossa very much, in fact I will be there for a second time in April. It is the oldest hotel in Florence (if I remember my tour book correctly) but is definitely in a good location for quick stops to drop off packages or rest up for a few minutes while shopping or touring. The rooms are large and pleasant (although not particularly elegant) and the staff was very friendly and helpful.

Dear Ann,
My husband and I went to Florence last year on our honeymoon and stayed at the Hermitage. The rooms were nice (we didn't have a view but we had a Jaccuzzi!) and it is walking distance from most Florence attractions. Our only complaint was that the included breakfast was very poor. Having said that, we were out walking one evening and discovered the Lungarno, which is right across the river. The location is absolutely magical (if you have a room overlooking the Arno) and it is much more luxurious than the Hermitage. I would definitely stay there if I went to Florence again (funds allowing, of course). Hope this is helpful and have a great trip.
