Plaza Athenee or Park Hyatt Paris Vendome?

I am able to get a fantastic corporate rate (pretty much the same price) at both of these hotels.

Any advice as to which is the better option?

Looks like the Hyatt is a better location, but the Plaza Athenee appears more true "Paris", and more luxurious.

Thanks in advance for your help!

You might like to ask this question in the Luxury Hotels forum at FlyerTalk. There are a fair number of Paris experts there.

I'd go for the Plaza Athenee, the location of it is just fine and it really is very luxurious!

I have stayed at both more than once. IF, and I say IF, the Athenee gives you a decent room, you will enjoy it, BUT, I have been given crappy rooms with clogged up showers etc, all for 1000 US. My wife and I recently stayed at the Park Hyatt Zurich and Milan, beyond excellent bedding and spas, very good hotels. One thing you will find at the Athenee, a great people watching place, if you are prepared to spend 20 euro for a drink in the bar. The 4 Seasons has it beat by a long shot, as does the Crillion. Five visits at the Athenee, 1 good one, all in Suites, not the cheapest rooms. The vipe may be better at the Athenee, but the Hyatt is a better hotel.
