Playing Chess in Luxembourg Gardens, Paris

Hello, I'm an avid chess player and have heard about chess games being played in the Luxembourg Gardens. Since we'll be visiting Paris pretty soon, I'd like to participate if possible. Does one just wait and play against whomever is available? Any advice please.

I'm no expert on this and haven't paid that much attention, but since no one else responded I'll just tell you that I've seen people playing chess there but don't know the protocol and didn't hang around enough to figure it out. It's public and outdoors and not intimidating, so why not just go and hang around and watch, I think you'll be able to figure it out. I can tell you the big chess playing area is in the NW corner, so go there (it's a big park) to check it out -- just off Vaugirard.

Thanks Christina. That's all I needed to know.
